I must tell that it is the work of the Shevchenko Church of Christ members and other congregations located abroad that has been done through the SEM.

The Church leads the ministry.
Many oftenly misunderstand the idea of different kinds of ministries saying: "Mission did this, mission did that". But I am inclined to say: "The Church that belongs to Jesus Christ did this or that". We all must understand that the people need to see that Christs Body does good things! They need to hear the exact phrase in order to know what Jesus is doing today.
IN ADDITION TO PREACHING AND TEACHING
In addition to overseeing the Slavic Evangelism Ministry and preaching for the Shevchenko congregation, Yuriy Aniper promotes a limited prison ministry, when invited, helps to resolve issues and problems within other Churches' fellowships.
A great deal of humanitarian help—from bedding to medical and kitchen equipment—has been donated to various individuals, churches and other groups such as the "Boyarka Orphanage for the Vision Impaired” near Kyiv. Bibles, published in Braille, have also been distributed to several institutions.
With some 50 members, the Shevchenko congregation holds workshops, seminars, retreats, a summer Bible camp and area-wide fellowships. A new church and Medical Clinic was recently established in Ivano-Frankivsk, western Ukraine with a second congregation being planned for Rivne, western Ukraine in November 2007.
For the women, there are special Ladies' Bible Classes, annual Conferences and a Dorcas Sewing Ministry while the men meet in weekly Bible studies and enjoy occasional recreational activities. The young people meet regularly in their local meetings and attend monthly combined services with area congregations.
The latest among several books Rick has translated and published are 350 Ukrainian hymns specially written, translated and edited for use by all congregations in Ukraine.
For internet teaching, he revised and translated Otis Gatewood's "There Is a God in Heaven", and more recently has worked with a former atheistic scholar, (and now Christian) Dr. V. I. Maliuk in a unique study on "Science and the Bible", which reveals how many modern "discoveries” made by science have been pre-dated in the Bible.
They are also planning to publish a parallel version of the gospels in Ukrainian, Russian and English entitled, "Living Ukrainian Gospels" - whenever funds are available.
